Avenged Sevenfold, c'est un jeune groupe formé dès le lycée, originaires d'Orange County en Californie. Ils sont influencés par des groupes punk tels que Bad religion Misfits ou NOFX et des groupes metal comme Maiden, Metallica, Pantera ou les Guns' N Roses.

Le nom du groupe revet des connotations religieuses, on peut lire dans la genèse de la Bible “And the Lord said until him, ‘Therefore whoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold’.” : La vengeance aura lieu sur lui 7 fois. Cependant, cette connotation ne se retouve pas dans la musique du groupe, cependant le groupe s'avère être assez catholique et intéressé .

Leur premier EP est intitulé "Warmness on the Soul" et sort le 31 Juillet 2001. C'est en Mars 2002 que sort leur premier CD "Sounding The Seven Trumpet" alors qu'ils n'ont que 18 ans. Ils font leurs premières tournées à coté de groupes métal tels que Shadows Fall et Mushroomhead, et participent au Vans Warped Tour 2003.

C'est le 26 aout 2003 que sort leur second album intitulé "Waking The Fallen", album porduit par Mudrock (Godsmack) sur Hopeless Records. Musicalement diffile à définir, Avenged Sevenfold est un mélange entre mélodies punk, riffs metal, ambiance un peu gothique et tout ca dans des chansons qui peuvent durer 7 à 8 minutes.

La reconnaissance ne tarde pas arriver, autant par la presse que par le public. Le groupe a depuis effectué de très nombreux concerts, et sont venus faire leur première tournée hors USA en Angleterre ou ils joueront notamment en première partie de Lost Prophets. S'en suivra une tournée américaine en Headline puis une courte tournée en Angleterre. C'est à la fin de la tournée que Mr Shadows (chanteur) eut une extinction de voix, et sous les conseils du docteur, il prend la décision qu'il ne criera plus sur le prochain album sous peine de modifier considérablement son timbre de voix.

Il est à présent temps de sortir le nouvel album. Et c'est par 2 dates en Californie mais surtout en Europe en Mai/Juin 2005 que le groupe va décider de promouvoir son CD qui sortira le 6/7 Juin 2005. Ce nouveau CD s'intitule City Of Evil, composé de 11 morceuax pour 1h12 de musique, ou Mr Shadows module plus sa voix que ne crie, mais aussi ou les guitaristes s'en donnent a coeur joie, les influences de certains groupes comme Les Guns' N 'Roses, Metallica ou Iron Maiden s'ne font ressentir

Courant 2005, le groupe va une nouvelle fois faire le Warped Tour et cette fois ci en tête d'affiche. Cette tournée devrait etre suivie d'une nouvelle tournée européenne à partie de Septembre.

Synyster Gates  :

Brian Elwin Haner Jr alias Synyster Gates né le 7 juillet 1981 est le guitariste principal (lead guitar) et le deuxième chanteur du groupe Avenged Sevenfold. Il est le fils du guitariste de country Brian Haner (qui est aussi connu sous le nom de « Papa Gates »).

Il est membre du groupe depuis 2001.

• Les prouesses techniques de Synyster ont été comparées à celles de Kirk Hammett, le guitariste de Metallica
• Synyster est souvent surnommé « Syn », il possède un autre surnom, « Synny », donné par Megan Curry.

Slash's Snakepit

Slash's Snakepit est un groupe de rock créé au milieu des années 1990. Regroupant en son sein plusieurs anciens membres du groupe Guns n' Roses ayant quitté celui ci l'année 1995 : le guitariste mythique "Slash", le batteur Matt Sorum, et Gilby Clarke. A ceux-ci se joignent Mike Inez (ex-Alice in Chains) et Eric Dover. Le style est typiquement inspiré du rock des années 1970, gravitant autour des riffs ravageurs et des solos déments de Slash... Le premier album It's Five O'Clock Somewhere s'est vendu à plus de deux millions d'exemplaires.

Déclarations à propos de l'album:

Slash, le jour de la mort de Kurt Cobain : " Ce jour là, j'étais chez moi, je regardais les nouvelles à la télé. La journée avait été assez chiante. Et je me suis senti mal à l'aise lorsque j'ai appris ce qu'il avait fait. Sur l'album "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere", il y a une chanson qui est liée directement à Kurt. Elle s'appelle "Lower" et je lui ai dédiée... Son geste émanait d'un sentiment que j'ai ressenti des millions de fois au cours de ma vie. La seule différence, c'est que je suis encore là." A LIRE
 
La totalité de l'album a été enregistré en une vingtaine de jours. La plupart des solos ont été enregistré en une ou deux prises.

Red hot chili peppers BIOGRAPHIE

Fin des années 70, Anthony Kiedis et Michael "Flea" Balzary, deux lycéens, forment avec Hillel Slovak et Jack Irons le groupe Anthym. En 1980, ils se produisent dans les clubs d'Hollywood. Sous l'influence de Flea, le groupe mélange funk et métal. Ils rebaptisent successivement leur groupe "What is This ?" et The Red Hot Chili Peppers.


Out in L.A.

En 1983, ils se rendent compte que leurs concerts ont du succès. En effet, ils se font remarquer en jouant parfois complètement nus avec juste une chaussette sur le sexe ! Ils décident d'envoyer quelques démos aux maisons de disques en incluant des titres comme Out in L.A. ou Green Heaven.

Quelques mois plus tard, les Red Hot signent un contrat portant sur sept albums avec EMI. Quelques problèmes empêchent Hillel et Jack de les rejoindre pour l'enregistrement de leur premier album The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Anthony et Flea recrutent alors un guitariste, Jack Sherman, et un batteur, Cliff Martinez. Mais l'alchimie n'est plus tout à fait la même. Le disque sort en août 84 et passe inaperçu. Deux mois plus tard, Jack Sherman quitte le groupe.


Freaky Styley

Hillel finit par rejoindre Anthony et Flea. En 1985, ils enregistrent leur second album Freaky Styley alliant punk-rock et funk. Début 1986, Cliff Martinez décide d'abandonner le groupe. Un départ finalement de bon augure puisqu'il est remplacé par Jack Irons, le batteur originel du groupe. Les Peppers retrouvent ainsi leur formation d'origine.

En 87, ils réalisent leur troisième album The Uplift Mofo Party Plan. C'est un flop commercial. En réalité, ils ont du mal à se détacher de l'image de groupe de club. Kiedis et Slovak sont à l'époque pris dans la tourmente de l'héroïne.


Overdose

En 1988, l'album atteint la 143e place des charts. Une bien maigre victoire. Le 27 juin, le guitariste est retrouvé mort d'une overdose. Il avait 26 ans. Jack fait une dépression nerveuse et quitte le groupe pour de bon. Anthony et Flea se retrouvent à nouveau seuls. Rapidement, ils enrôlent Duane "Blackbyrd" Mc Knight et Darren Peligro. Cela ne durera pas: ils quittent le groupe au bout de quelques semaines seulement. Anthony et Flea se trouvent un nouveau guitariste, John Frusciante, et un nouveau batteur, Chad Smith.


Higher Ground

Mother's Milk sort en 89 et est dédié à Hillel Slovak. Le tube qui cartonne est Higher Ground, reprise d'un morceau de Stevie Wonder. L'année suivante, Mother's Milk est certifié disque d'or. Les Red Hot décident de rompre le contrat qui les lie à EMI. Ils signent alors chez Warner pour trois albums.


Under The Bridge

Blood Sugar Sex Magik paraît fin 91, dans lequel figure le hit mondial Under The Bridge. Mai 92, les ventes de l'album atteignent le million. En pleine tournée mondiale, John Frusciante quitte le groupe. Arik Marshall se joint au groupe pour finir la tournée. Au bout d'un an à peine, Dave Navarro le remplace. Leur sixième opus One Hot Minute sort en 95. Le style y est plus sombre, moins funk que dans leurs oeuvres précédentes.

En 1999, Californication envahit les bacs des disquaires. Le single Otherside est un succès. Ils sont nominés trois fois aux Grammy Awards: meilleure performance rock,chanson rock et album rock. Les ventes dépassent allègrement le million d'exemplaires...

Hoba Hoba spirit ( 7ay7a style )

 

 
Hoba Hoba Spirit, c’est l’histoire de cinq musiciens nourris au rock, au reggae et qui ont décidé, naturellement, deles incorporer à leur culture, marocaine. Cela donne un groove maghrébin ou les guitares électriques viennent percuter les rythmiques gnaoui ou châabi pour en augmenter l’impact. Un mix original, qui sonne vrai, et qui ressemble au Maroc d’aujourd’hui... Hoba Hoba Spirit, c’est aussi un verbe ancré dans le quotidien de leur génération, mi-arabe mi-français, qui dit des choses importantes sans jamais se prendre au sérieux… Hoba Hoba Spirit, c’est enfin un authentique groupe de scène, qui a développé son propre spectacle en le rodant sur les planches du pays...
